My name is James Brown. I am a maths teacher at Barr’s Hill School in Coventry, UK, and a PhD student at the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues, University of Birmingham.
My mission is to better understand how to empower young people – especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds – to lead flourishing lives. I want to share what I learn along the way and put it into practice.
I write a blog about character education and host a podcast where I reflect more broadly on teaching, learning, and life in schools.
On the maths side of things, I’ve also begun compiling the narrative-driven questions I use to introduce new topics – part of a growing project called Motivated Maths.
